Birth Companions has made the decision to suspend our Twitter account while we consider whether we wish to continue to be part of the platform.

We have made this decision on the basis of a number of concerns, particularly the platform’s governance, the amount of disinformation shared, and the toxic and abusive nature of many exchanges.

While Birth Companions has never been on the receiving end of any negative posts on Twitter, we are very conscious of the impact on those who are.

We will take some time to reflect on the value of putting time and energy into this platform over other forms of communication.

If you would like to stay connected with Birth Companions and the work we do to support those facing inequality and disadvantage during pregnancy and early motherhood you can subscribe to our quarterly newsletter, and find us on Instagram and LinkedIn.

If you would like to discuss this decision, or share any ideas on next steps, please get in touch.
