This statement from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG)  lays out the College's position and several recommendations for maternity care for women in prison in England and Wales.

It endorses the standards of care set out in Birth Companions' Birth Charter, and notes that it is essential that the new MoJ/HMPPS policy framework on Pregnancy, Mother and Baby Units (MBUs) and Maternal Separation from Children under Two in Women's Prisons is embedded in to practice across all women’s prisons.
