The JUSTICE podcast, from the charity One Small Thing, aims to highlight new voices and intelligent discussion around criminal justice. Their new series looks specifically at Motherhood in the Justice System.

In these two episodes, host Edwina Grosvenor and Dr Laura Abbott explore pregnancy and birth in the justice system:

  • In Part 1, Laura and Edwina discuss Laura's work with pregnant women and mothers in the criminal justice system, and her new Lost Mothers project.
  • In Part 2, Laura and Edwina are joined by Suzy* (a trustee for Birth Companions and member of our Lived Experience Team) and Dr Miranda Davies, the lead for prisoner health research at the Nuffield Trust.

Please note these episodes contain discussion of traumatic births and infant mortality that some listeners may find upsetting.
