Supporting pregnant women and mothers of young children under probation supervision

This webinar from Birth Companions and Advance focused on why specialist provision for pregnant women, mothers and babies under probation supervision is so crucial.

Together, Birth Companions and Advance provide specialist services tailored to meet the needs of women under probation supervision who are pregnant or have children under the age of two. In this session, we reflected on the critical nature of what is known as the first 1001 days - the period from conception to a child's second birthday - and the ways in which services can and do improve outcomes for both mother and child.

With significant criminal justice reform on the horizon, now is the time to think about how all services, both statutory and voluntary sector, across justice, health, social care, housing and more, can work together to break intergenerational cycles of harm and abuse.
