We know that what happens in the first 1001 days, from conception to a child’s second birthday, shapes the health, wellbeing, and life chances of mothers and their children.
But the disadvantage and inequity many women face during this period prevents them from giving their babies the best start in life.
There is nowhere near enough statutory support for women and their families. Without radical changes, intergenerational cycles of trauma and harm will continue.

We draw together learning and expertise from our Lived Experience Programme, our services and our network of partners to achieve systemic and structural change for the benefit of women, children and society as a whole.
