Birth Companions’ community support for women in contact with the criminal justice system offers one-to-one support to pregnant women and new mothers being supported by Advance who are living in London and the South East of England.
Birth Companions has been supporting women involved in the criminal justice system for 30 years, so we understand the challenges women face after release from prison, or while serving a community sentence.
In partnership with Advance, our coordinator Deepa supports women through pregnancy, birth, early motherhood, pregnancy loss and separation.
We work with women one-to-one, offering them practical and emotional support
We provide women with practical items, information, resources and advocacy with other services and professionals
We help women to feel positive and confident about their pregnancy, birth and motherhood
