My role is to coordinate and deliver Birth Companions' support for pregnant women and new mothers in HMP Foston Hall.
I provide one to one support to women in the prison, and run two groups - one for pregnant women, and one for women separated from children under the age of two.
I have been an antenatal teacher for over twenty years, both in the NHS and in the voluntary sector, and I volunteered for Birth Companions for many years before joining the staff team in 2024. I am also an author, and work on an international birth and parenting journal.
