At Birth Companions, we know how powerful hope can be.

“Birth Companions gives me hope because I am not alone.”
“Birth Companions gives me hope because my voice is finally listened to.”
“Birth Companions gives me hope - and the strength not to give up.”

For 30 years, we’ve supported pregnant women, mothers and their babies with kindness, love and compassion. Pregnancy and early motherhood can be challenging for any woman, but those we work with are navigating some of the most difficult and complex situations imaginable. They are often unseen, unheard, and unsupported.

  • Facing birth without anyone they trust by their side.
  • Navigating pregnancy in a new country, in a new language.
  • Adjusting to motherhood while in prison, or under probation supervision.
  • Caring for a newborn in damp, temporary housing without the most basic necessities.
  • Worrying about losing the care of their baby because they are a victim of domestic abuse.

With your help, Birth Companions can be there to give a woman hope - and with that hope, the strength to care for herself and her baby.

The Big Give 8-15 October

That’s why we’re taking part in the Big Give Women & Girls Match Fund 2025 giving us access to £10,000 of match funds.

From midday on 8 October until midday on 15 October, every pound you donate will be matched by The Big Give until we hit our £10,000 target. This means donations made to us during this period will be doubled, up to a potential total of £20,000.

That's double the difference for pregnant women, mothers and babies experiencing severe disadvantage in the UK today.

Even the smallest donation can have a huge impact:

  • £5 provides a small gift for a new baby - often the only one they will receive.
  • £20 provides a bag of essential food items for a new mother in temporary housing.
  • £50 covers volunteer expenses to make a home visit to a new mother with no support.
  • £100 covers volunteer expenses to support a woman in labour, who would otherwise give birth alone.

Birth Companions relies on donations. It’s your kindness that makes our work possible. One donation, twice the impact. Hope begins here, with you.

If you cannot donate this time, please don’t worry. Sharing this message and letting others know about Birth Companions’ work and the Big Give will also be a huge help.
