Breaking Cycles, Brighter Futures: Supporting Parents and Young People In Care Proceedings

A collaborative webinar from For Baby’s Sake, the National Youth Advocacy Service (NYAS) and the Birth Companions Institute

Many parents, babies, children, and young people involved in care proceedings have experienced high levels of trauma and adversity, often repeated throughout generations.  But when agencies work holistically, compassionately, and consistently, families can be supported to heal, stay safe, and thrive.

In this webinar, For Baby’s Sake, NYAS and the Birth Companions Institute will come together to reflect on these issues and share learning, practice insights and emerging solutions for improving the care and support provided to those who have experienced the care system, and go on to have social care involvement for their own children.

Who is this webinar for?

Professionals working in social care, maternity and perinatal services, domestic abuse services, youth work, family courts, commissioning, education and early years, voluntary and community services.

Why attend?

Participants will gain an understanding of the drivers of intergenerational care involvement; practical tools for trauma-informed, relational support; multi-agency approaches built in partnership with those who have lived experience; and current areas of development.
